X'mas is over

X'mas is over. I am glad. I must say when you have no one to share it
with it is kind of hard. I did go to austin to see some family but
that was a bit overwhelming. When you are use to being by yourself
then you're around all these people, it gets very tiring.

I have met a little
someone . Guess I should say little someone. I met a very cute flight
attendent on the plane the other day. We went on a date later that
night. She says she is flying back in on Monday for date #2. Time will
tell.
Merry Christmas all!!

Dr. Phil

Three years ago when Littleone and I separated a very dear friend sent me an article that was a question for Dr. Phil that he answered. Here is the question and the answer.

Question: For six months, I've been dating a great guy I've known half my life. A few weeks ago, his best friend asked us over to meet his new girlfriend. Long story short, my man leaves with her and later denies that anything happened, even though they spent the night together. Then I find out he has been meeting other women for the duration of our relationship. The amount and extent of the lying is overwhelming. Is it pathological? Sociopathic? Is it an illness I should be sympathetic to, and is it curable? Or should I just get rid of him?

Answer: This is an easy one: Get rid of him! Don't waste your time with Psych 101 labels, because it doesn't matter what you call his condition, he doesn't have a place in your life. The best predictor of future behavior is relevant past behavior. He has cheated, lied, and betrayed you, and that all adds up to a pattern of deceit. You can count on more of the same if you stay in this. I don't care how charming he is or how well he treats you when you're together. He has shown a lack of impulse control and blatant disregard for you feelings. Those characteristics are drop-dead deal breakers. It's time to cut your losses and kick him to the curb.

Johnny's response: This is exactly what happened to me, except change the genders.

Downtown Austin

Dallas Part 3

As things are getting organized to proceed to South Fork, Jason panics and realizes he has no security to walk with JR down the red carpet once he arrives. So, of course, I volunteer. "Hey I've got a buddy with me, he and I can do that. You just need us to walk him down the red carpet right?" Yes, thats all. Little Buddy and I become Wildeco Security, Inc. We arrive back at South Fork, the stars walk down the red carpet, JR flies in and WE walk him down the red carpet. "Get Back. Excuse us. Coming through." Captured by video footage. Yes, I can prove it.

The rest of the night was spent serving the stars. I was back and forth gathering drinks for the stars, making sure JR had wine for his wife (which I delivered to the back of the bus and when he answered the bedroom door he was standing in his boxer shorts!) I've seen JR in his underwear in real life! At one point during the night, Jason finally asks me what my name was and then quickly sends it out over the walkie talkies that Johnny Wilde has an all access pass to any of the event. I had been such a good help he wasn't going to let me go.

As things finally started winding down, the stars were all seated eating their meal and it was time for Little Buddy and I to get something to eat. I told Jason where we were going and he invited us back to the bus after we had had our meal. Okay, so we can't turn down an invitation. Stepping onto the bus was like stepping into a Motley Crue Video. Girls, Girls, Girls. Young girls being served alcohol as fast as possible. Jason comes staggering out of the back bedroom, his eyes wired on something. Needless to say, my acting only goes so far and Little Buddy and I split.

After returning home, I find out later that we have made Channel 8 Dallas News footage on the red carpet with JR. Many of the fans were super upset over the way the event went and were asking for refunds on their expensive ticket money. It made the evening news. Jason ends up being a friend or family member of JR's and thats how he gets production credits but obviously wasn't prepared for the pressure. He should of contacted me much earlier in his planning stages. One more life experience to write down in the book.

Dallas Part 2

After the picture taking, we are standing outside and I spot a Gibson Guitar bus. Gibson Guitar was apparently one of the sponsors of the events and due to my experience on the concert trail with Restless Heart I knew the bus was the behind the scenes happenings. I tell Little Buddy to wait for me here and I'm going to go get on that bus. I was appropriately dressed in a sport coat to easily blend into the scene. I walked right up to the bus and the one security guy standing at the door. I put on my roadie hat, and say, while I'm looking at watch, "Its been a long day." And he says, "Yeah, and its just getting started." After making fast friends with the guy, I stroll right by him and in the door to the bus. Yes, my powers of persuasion have won again!

On the bus, all the roadies are in there eating and I head direct to the back of the bus where sits a lady and her daughter. I ask them what they are doing, and they tell me they are the winners of the contest to take a helicopter ride with JR. Oh yeah, that contest! I can tell early that the mother is fun so I tell her that I'm nobody special and I just worked my way on the bus and don't really belong. But she could easily pretend I was her son/or friend and I was there along for the ride. She agrees but remembers they have their names on a list and mine won't be included. I say that's okay not to worry, I was just taking this as far as I could but would disappear when needed. Shortly we are visited by Sue Ellen and a young guy. The young guy turns out to be THE guy/organizer/host, Jason.

You can tell he is completely unorganized and is trying to run the entire show himself. His cell phone is ringing constantly with people checking in with him on every decision. He sees me sitting there and asks who I am and before I can answer he says, "You're Larry's friend, right?" Well of course I'm Larry's friend, just whether or not I'm Larry's friend he is referring to is the question. He pulls me over to the side and says, "Sorry but we have film crew on the helicopter and will not have an extra seat for you to ride in." Thats okay with me of course as I hadn't planned on taking a helicopter ride. By the way it was Ross Perot's helicopter they were using.

From here, I take on a new role as assitant to Jason. I am the "can do" man for him which opens lots of doors for me for the rest of the event. Jason's first dilemma is cast member Cliff is needed on the bus. I see him across the way surrounded by a crowd of fans. I step up and say I can get Cliff on the bus. So I do. I walk up to him in an authoratative voice excusing my way through the crowd, "Cliff you are needed on the bus." and he follows.

We have all now congregated on the bus and the next thing I know we're moving. My cell phone rings and its Little Buddy. "Are you on that bus? Because its moving." I know, I say without a clue as to where we might be headed or how I'm going to get off if need be. We end up at the Parker City Hall not far from the event. This was the secret meeting place for all cast members. Here they gathered to proceed to South Fork and do their red carpet entrance. It is planned that all the rest of the cast members will proceed to the event in a limo and JR (larry) will be flying by helicopter with a turn around the ranch. By the way, we meet the real friend of Larry's at the City Hall but Jason doesn't seem to be too worried about the fact that I wasn't the real friend to begin with because now I've become his "can do" friend.

Dallas Part1

So the much anticipated Dallas reunion has come and went in its natural whirlwind drama. I have had tickets to attend for sometime and stewed over whom to take with me for much of that time. After some deliberation, I decided to ask Little Buddy to go with me which ended up being the very best idea. I had at one time considered taking Goldie Locks, but after knowing what happens at the reunion, having her along would have been a big mistake and resulted in a lot different outcome of my experience.

Lets all start a few days before the event. I spent much time on the phone trying to upgrade my tickets from regular attender to VIP status. I was given several different answers on how to get this done but in the end was told to show up early the day of the event and I could upgrade at the door. FYI, VIP tickets were going for $1,000. But I'm a huge fan! Being very committed to the event Little Buddy and I show up four hours early the day of the event at South Fork Ranch only to be told that all VIP status tickets had been spoken for/sold out. So as we are standing around in the registration building I start working on a plan. Being this is not my first rodeo at an event like this, I wander over to the Media Tables and strike up a conversation with a good looking girl, we'll call her Lois Lane. In the conversation I tell her my whole sob story about being to told to show up early in order to upgrade my tickets and then doing so to only be told I couldn't upgrade. She totally agreed that I had gotten the rotten end of the stick.

Together we figure out the only thing that makes you VIP status is a purple event bracelet. With my cunning and fabulous personality, I convince Lois, to snag me and Little Buddy a purple bracelet from the near VIP table. After disappearing for strategic reasons, Little Buddy and I return to Lois's table and she slips the VIP bracelets to me. This was only step one to a rather unexpected outcome to the whole evening.

Now to test our success. With confidence, like we were supposed to be their, we go and get in the line, VIP line, to have our picture taken with the cast. So up we step, have our picture taken, and I make sure that I have shaken JR's hand before we are rushed on. At this point, Dallas 30 Year reunion is already a success because I have shaken the hand of my idol.

Oh, also as our new found VIP status we were given nice leather bags full of give aways which is sure to leave my hair and skin looking its best. The bag was filled with aloe vera beauty products and not one piece of Dallas memorabilia. Where were the DVDs for a $1,000 VIP ticket? I digress...
