So long story short she neglected to let her family know that she had invited me to visit them. You would think that would be an important detail. (She wants to be a doctor) So anyway I spend the first night in the Hampton Inn and it was terrible. It was old and air conditioner did not work. And for people that know me even in the winter I need good air conditioning to sleep. So the next morning I checked out and went right over to the Hyatt Place. I walk in and I'm telling this story to the two front desk people and up walks the manager. He says I'm sorry I couldn't help but overhear your story. He offered me the distressed passenger rate. For those of you that are not frequent travelers. That's like the best rate you can get. When an airline cancels a flight or there is bad weather you get the distressed passenger rate. He said that I looked like I was a distressed passenger. Which I have to admit at that point I was.
If you're ever in El Paso Texas and you need a great place to stay I recommend the Hyatt Place. The manager's name is Roger and he is super nice. - As a side note he also gave me his personal cell phone number and told me if I ever needed anything just to call. Turns out I did find myself needing him and I called and he helped me right through it. Thanks Roger
In a few weeks I'm off to San Francisco to my annual trip to MacWorld. Can't wait.
