Now For The Hard Part - Pacey

I have been going through some tough things for about the last month. I've been taking a photo and writing daily in my personal journal, and I think I'm ready to start sharing here.

Most people know that I have two dogs that I often referred to as the girls. Mattie is a dachshund and Pacey is a German Shepherd. I had a German Shepherd growing up and I've always loved that breed of dogs. I had one other German Shepherd that I was close to named Katy. She was a “real” German Shepherd; I flew her over here. The German Shepherd I had growing up had hip dysplasia so when I got ready to get my own I did some research and found out that the German, German Shepherds don't get the hip dysplasia only the American, German Shepherds. Here is Katy.

Katy was really awesome. When Katy was eight I got Mattie. Here is Mattie when she was a puppy.

When Katy was nine she had an accident and I lost her. It was very sudden and I was out of town and it was terrible. I was dating Littleone at the time.  In fact we were together out of town working my stadium business. It was in the fall, so my stadium business was in full swing. Also my Legal Shield business was in it's full growth. You will find out later in the story why I am sharing all these little details with you.

I wasn't planning on getting another dog anytime soon after I lost Katy but a couple of things changed my mind. Mattie was so sad without her buddy around. Every morning I would let the two of them outside, and since Mattie was a puppy when I got her she looked at Katy as her mother. When Mattie would go outside she would turn around and look for Katy. Mattie became kind of depressed and it was really sad. The other thing was someone told me that by waiting longer to get another dog doesn't mean that I loved Katy more. In other words the length of time that I wait to get another dog doesn't determine the amount of love that I had or have for Katy.  Katy would want me to be happy. That made sense to me, so Littleone and I decided to fly another German, German Shepherd to Texas. Here are Pacey and Mattie together when then were puppies.
